Day 321 - Ready to clean

30 January 2011- Apparently clove oil is a great way to kill mould. Bleach just bleaches it, it doesn't kill. Our house has mould infiltrating all over the place (a month or two of rain creates many opportunities). UNfortunately, Most places in Brisbane that stock clove oil have mysteriously run out. Well not so mysteriously, a lot of people are cleaning up very damp houses. Our bottles were ordered online and arrived last week. A little bit of clove oil in some water, and we are good to go.

Day 320 Books, so many books

29 January 2011- We went to the Lifeline Bookfest. I may have mentioned this before. These are just some of the crates of books waiting to be put out onto the tables. They have a lot of books.

Day 319 - Dylan

28 January 2011 A picture of Dylan. Not necessarily a decorating choice we would have made, but my mother and stepfather had 5 pictures they wanted to get rid of, so it was determined that they would be lotteried off to the kids. Each picture (of various rock greats) was numbered, then we all drew a number out of the hat. We got Dylan. I don't know that Greg was that impressed but at least we didn't get Zappa!

Day 318 - Alleyway

27 January 2011- The alley next to my building has several cafes along it, and is very popular - especially now the closest food court has been shut due to flood damage. It's great not having to go far for lunch or coffee, but frustrating that there are so many people.

Day 317 - Fan

26 January 2011- Ito's hot in Queensland in the summer, and we don't have aircon. So a fan lives in the living room. So too does the dust.

Day 316 - Details

25 January 2011- These are the blocks that compose the main Post Office in Brisbane. I assume that the pock marks are deliberate, as they only occur in the bordered area of the block, but I don't know what the purpose is. They aren't a particular pattern. Or maybe they are the natural erosion, but only in the blocks? Since some have more protection than others, I don't think so.

Day 315 - Nerf

24 January 2011- This is one of the "bullets" from a Nerf gun. They are apparently the toy to give at the moment. I obtained three when I did some pre-Christmas volunteering at the Salvos. They have decided not to pass these (or any other toy gun that isn't a water gun) as they promote violence. So volunteers are free to take them in exchange for a donation. The little ones I have are not too bad, but you can get automatic ones, and belt-fed bullets- insane. Anyway, Greg is highly entertained with this on accasion, and so we have Nerf bullets around the house. One lives on my desk at work, and serves as a frustration outlet and form of entertainment.
