Day 338 - Waiting to be catalogued

16 February 2011- I mentioned we went to Bookfest? This was part of the haul- many many copies of various sci-fi/fantasy short story magazines- dating from the 1970s to now. I used to subscribe to one in the 90's so we didn't pick up some of those, but it was nice to get some of the earlier stuff.

29 January 2011- We went to the Lifeline Bookfest. I may have mentioned this before. These are just some of the crates of books waiting to be put out onto the tables. They have a lot of books.

Day 312- Merry Christmas!

21 January 2011- My Christmas present finally arrived. A new Kindle! No thanks to Amazon's policy of prioritising domestic customers over their cashed up overseas customers. Anyway, in the days since I have taken this picture I have been able to appreciate an easily readable portable digi library of books.

17 August 2010 - You may find this hard to believe, but these are the first books we have unpacked! We are going to be methodical in the book unpacking, weed out the duplicates and books we don't need. ( we have waaay more books than shelf space)

Day 92 - BOOKS

15 June 2010 - Last day of the Lifeline bookfest. Twice a year for at least 3 days the Lifeline charity puts on a massive book sale in Brisbane- millions of books, most under $5 ( the average paperback book in Australia is around $20 thanks to some very restrictive importing rules.) many are under $2. Over the years I have picked up some absolute bargains (1930's original Nancy Drew - no cover 50 cents) and some very unique gifts ( 1956 state mining journal for my dad). Anyway this is one at least 10 tables in the high priced section (about up to $10), there are another 20 to 30 in the regular and cheapie sections.
